The Cantina of Gambellara was founded in 1947, comprising nearly 300 members farming 600 hectares in the small appellation spanning the border between Vicenza and Verona, not far from Soave. Though relatively unknown beyond Italy, the locals cherish Gambellara, and it merged with the Cantina dei Colli Vicentini in 2015. Winemaking is spearheaded by Alberto Marchisio, making use of fruit grown in the local volcanic soils.
The Cantina di Gambellara Monopolio Gambellara Classico is a crisp, dry white wine crafted from hillside parcels of garganega within the small district of Gamellara. It has a delightful aroma of peach and apple, with palate-pleasing hints of chalk and pear. Enjoy it with creamy pasta sauces, light starters, fish-based recipes, and rich risottos.
